Who is the author
He began his professional career in 1975 with the group Coisas Nossas, with which he performed in the show “Na Boca do Povo”, held the following year, whose star, Marlene, sang the classics of MPB. The show, written and directed by Ricardo Cravo Albin, was presented at Sala Sidney Miller, by Funarte. He was part of the Brazilian Music Orchestra and the Brazilian String Orchestra. He is a drummer for the Pixinguinha Orchestra, directed by Henrique Cazes, and the Anacleto de Medeiros Chamber Band. He also works in contemporary music, with Ronaldo Miranda, Tato Taborda and Tim Rescala, who dedicated the pieces to him: “Concert for two tambourines and strings” and “Drummer drama”. He is considered the only follower of the Brazilian drum style created by Luciano Perrone, fundamental to many works by Radamés Gnattali. For this reason, he has been invited to participate in events such as the first hearing of the cantata “Operário em Construção” and the reassembly of Gnattali’s works such as “Chat with three voices” and “Samba in three movements”. He has participated, as a guest percussionist, in performances by the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, the Rio de Janeiro Pro-Music Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. He worked, as a musician and actor, in the editing of the children’s opera “The orchestra of dreams”, by Tim Rescala. In 1998, he joined the orchestra formed for the celebrations of the 190 years of Branco do Brasil, conducted by pianist Nelson Ayres, who accompanied artists such as Nana Caymmi, Elba Ramalho, João Bosco, Dominguinhos, Paulinho da Viola, Martinho da Vila and Moraes Moreira. In that same period, he was in Porto Alegre, participating in a show in honor of Radamés Gnattali, when the “Retratos Suite” was performed, with the mandolinist Joel Nascimento as soloist. In 1998 and 1999, he directed the popular percussion workshops of the 18th and 19th Music Festivals of Londrina In January 2000, he directed the tambourine and drums workshops at the VIII Oficina de Música Popular Brasileira, in Curitiba. Throughout his career, he performed, in shows and recordings, with several artists such as Elizeth Cardoso, Wilson Moreira, Nelson Sargento, Luis Melodia and Dorival Caymmi, among others. He is a member of the instrumental groups Pife Muderno and Coreto Urbano, directed by saxophonist Carlos Malta.
