Get ready to party. Splice Originals: Brazilian Carnival Percussion features a variety of rhythms heard during the Carnival of Brazil. NYC-based Brazilian percussion experts gave us a crash course in different Brazilian samba, focusing primarily on the samba-enredo style common to Rio de Janeiro. Other colorful styles incorporated into this pack include samba-reggae, samba-Afro, and variations of Alfo-Brazilian folkloric rhythms from Angola and Congo.
They performed the many instruments associated with different samba styles including the repinique, three types of surdo, cuica, tamborim, two types of timbau, pandeiro, chocalho, snare drum, agogos, apito (a whistle), and caxixi.
These lively one-shots and loops channel the distinct, palpable energy of the iconic Brazilian festival into your productions for listeners to celebrate wherever they are.
